People often ask me about what my setup looks like. This is my reception table from a wedding on Monday at West Shore Cafe in Homewood, California. I don’t believe in drawing tons of attention to myself at weddings (attention should be on the bride & groom), so it’s clean and simple. The big box, called a slant rack, houses the essentials for a reception – my mixer, controller, wireless mic receivers, and my computer. The computer next to it serves as a backup. (Good DJs back up everything!) I also use the computer for some secondary tasks. The stand to the left elevates a jumbo antenna for my wireless mic receivers. Dropping wireless mic signal is an absolute no-no in my book. The iPad perched on the hutch to the right allows me to DJ wirelessly, which is something I do regularly. There it is. The secrets of DJing revealed!!!
